HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS:
November 27, 1949 - KSTN (1420 AM) goes on the air from Stockton.
The station's original studios are located in the Hotel
Clark in downtown Stockton. October 30, 1958
- The FCC approves the construction permit for KSTN-FM (107.3).
December 23, 2004 - KSTN co-founder and owner Knox LaRue
dies. His son, Robert LaRue, takes over day-to-day operation of
the stations. February 19, 2010 - Citing
financial problems, the LaRue family shuts down KSTN-AM (at 6:15
PM) and KSTN-FM (at midnight). February 22, 2010 -
KSTN-FM returns to the air, relaying Educational Media
Foundation's K-Love format. (The station's call letters are eventually changed to KLVS under EMF, while the KSTN-FM calls are
parked on a dormant station in Sacramento.)

of KSTN's Sunday morning schedule for many years was
its block of Gospel-oriented programming, including "The
Hour Of Praise," hosted by Rev. Crosby, and "The Glad
Tidings Message," portions of which are heard here. |
